Y&R Report (December 3, 2022): The Latest on The Young and the Restless

Hey Y&R fans, every second Saturday TV Banter discusses the latest happenings and provides commentary on your favourite daytime drama. Note to U.S. readers - SPOILER ALERT: Here in Canada, I watch the show on Global TV which is one episode ahead of CBS.  I will inevitably refer to incidents you haven't seen yet.  Read at your own risk.  If you are the curious type, though, you may prefer to discover some things in advance.

Hi fans,
Ashley Abbott didn't behave very well at the Abbott Thanksgiving feast.  She left before the dinner was over and she was petulant and disrespectful to her family.  I have to admit that Diane behaved better than Ashley at Thanksgiving.  However, Ashely's distaste for Diane is not as strong as Phyllis's.
Phyllis seems to have lost her cotton pickin' mind.  What's wrong with that woman?  She is so consumed with hatred for Diane that she can't think straight.  Ashley and Nikki also want to drive Diane out of town, but not at any cost.  Phyllis has completely lost control.  Consider all that she sacrificed due to her obsession with Diane.  She has given up her hotel, the Grand Phoenix.  She loved running that place.  It made her happy.
Phyllis also sacrificed her relationship with Jack for Diane's sake.  It was all so unnecessary.  All she had to do was sit back and let Diane self-destruct.  She really didn't have to do anything else.  Instead, she just drove Jack toward Diane.  How foolish that redhead is!  She's even put the entire Abbott family at risk by revealing Diane's location to a convicted felon - Jeremy Stark.
Phyllis was so nonchalant about what she had done.  She acted as if it were all a game.  She didn't seemed to worry about Jeremy casing harm.  At least, Nikki and Ashley showed more concern for the family's safely than for bringing Diane down.
Well fans, now that the dangerous Jeremy Stark is in Genoa City, young Harrison is at risk of being kidnapped.  Stark might demand a huge ransom from the Abbots for Harrison's safe return.  Will a frightened Harrison call out for his Di Di?   One thing's for certain.  Someone will be targeted by Stark. Someone, if not Harrison, will be in dire peril.  Stark is not in town for no purpose at all.
Have you noticed that for some reason, Diane wears black almost all the time.  I do recall her wearing a white outfit once.
I'm not sure how long Michael Graziadei will stick around in his role as Daniel Romalotti.  I am glad that he's back, though.  According to an online spoiler, he's "keeping a secret close to his vest."  We'll find soon enough about his secret.  For now, it's interesting that he's planning a project for Chancellor Winters, where his old flame, Lily, works.  Lily's relationship with Billy Boy Abbott seems to be on rocky ground due to all the time he's devoting to Chelsea.  She may just be open to Daniel's advances.  Also, Daniel doesn't like Billy at all.
I really didn't expect Nate and Elena to get back together.  It looked like their relationship was over for good.  However, I still see a big problem ahead for that couple, namely Victoria Newman.  I think Victoria will eventually make a play for Nate.  He seems quite entranced with Princess Victoria.  He really enjoyed their conversation after work, so much so that he neglected to show up for a date with Elena.
Y&R is handling Chelsea's mental breakdown very sensitively.  Chelsea explained to her son, Connor, that mental illness is not something to be ashamed of.
Victor can't help meddling in the lives of his children.  He doesn't like Sally Spectra and he is getting involved in the feud between Adam and Nick over Sally.  He's also badgering Chance about about his breakup with his daughter Abby.  Chance didn't tell him about about Abby and Devon.  Victor just assumes that the breakup is all Chance's fault.  Wait until he finds out what his daughter has done!

Here are some comments I received in an email from longtime Y&R viewer, Helen in Scarborough, Ontario.  Here's what Helen wrote:

Oh poor little Master Harrison.

Sick of this stupid Jenkins story.

Hi Helen
I've enjoyed the Diane Jenkins storyline, but I think it has gone on too long with nothing new happening- until now.  The arrival of Jeremy Stark in town, just before Christmas, should really stir things up.  It's about time.  There has been too much repetition.  I'm pleased that they are finally moving ahead.

Y&R REPORT READERS' POLL

Kellen Enriquez (Harrison Locke)

So fans, here's the burning question of the day.  Should Harrison (Kellen Enriquez) get his curly blond locks shorn?  What do you think?  Should he go to a barber?  Keep in mind that his hair is now much longer than it is in the picture above.  Respond to the poll below and let me know.

Should Harrison get his hair cut?

Joanne
